The standard of management and cuisine at Tortilis is excellent, and between game drives you can relax in the pool or watch elephant and other animals wandering close to the camp’s waterhole. On game drives and walks you and your family can expect to see the big cats, elephants, hippos, birds and plains game with your guide who will explain about each animal’s habits threats and behaviour.
It is quite likely that your loved ones will have a wonderful surprise sprung on them by the camp staff such as an impromptu bush breakfast in some beautiful spot half way through your morning game drive, or a lazy sundowner on a hilltop with magnificent views of the park below, and Kilimanjaro towering above.
Overshadowed by Mount Kilimanjaro, the Amboseli National Park is a beautiful area for viewing an abundance of wildlife. Elephants are prolific in the park, slowly padding in large herds across one horizon to the next with hippos in the many pools and swamp areas and lion lurking in the reeds and papyrus around the swamps awaiting their prey. Cheetah can be found on the salt flats, giraffe, antelope, zebra and wildebeest wander through the doum palms and bird life is prolific.
If you chose to take a family safari in Kenya a few days in the Amboseli with your family combines excellently with a trip to the Masai Mara and Rift Valley lakes.
