Sabuk

Sabuk lodge in Kenya is in one of the most beautiful areas of the Northern frontier district. The lodge itself is perched on a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River below, and the Laikipia plains that stretch far to the horizon that is broken by the Karissia Hills.

Children are very welcome and well catered for at Sabuk, with early mealtimes and a baby lookout service all the family can relax and enjoy their stunning surroundings.

The family will have the opportunity to enjoy game drives during the day and at night with a spotlight in addition to heading out into the rocky wilderness on the back of camels which offer a super vantage point from which to view your breathtaking surroundings.

The family and older children can head out on foot to enjoy guided nature walks learning about the laikipiak Maasai crafts as they demonstrate their tribal and bush craft skills of lighting fires, tracking animals and identifying plants with medicinal properties. In addition to there is also line fishing to enjoy and the lodge has a lovely pool in which to cool off in the afternoon sun.

The lodge has six imaginatively designed (open sided thatched cottages) with verandas, en-suites, with fabulous views. Sabuk was fashioned out of the local landscape, built with local materials, the hillside, flora, twisted wood and stone boulders incorporated into the architecture. Open walls and private verandas face out over the river gorge 150ft below.
