Outwardly the house has a traditional feel. However once you enter through the large sturdy doors to the side of the house you will see that each room has been individually styled. The family areas include a living room with large plush comfortable sofas and a huge marble dining table. The room benefits from being open fronted that leads out onto a tiled terrace which is the perfect place to relax in the evening and watch the wildlife over dinner. A wooden staircase raises up towards the thatched roof to the four upstairs bedrooms. With extra large beds, mosquito nets, ceiling fans and tribal textiles and hand painted and crafted furniture each room has been designed to a high standard.
Built on the edge of a seasonal lagoon Luangwa Safari House is perfectly located for some excellent family game viewing opportunities. With the beautiful backdrop of the Chindeni Hills the lagoon to the side of the house attracts a variety of game including herds of elephants and journeys of giraffe which use this area to feed and water throughout the day.
The Luangwa Safari House is extraordinary – large and powerful, this castle like house gives you space, luxury with nature on your doorstep, ideal for the family after an exciting day’s game viewing.
Luangwa Safari House welcomes children over seven years old. There is a whole range of safari activities such as drives and nature walks to learn to identify animal spoor and droppings, birding for beginners and learning to use spotlights at night.
Families can either enjoy safari activities together or if you would like to go on a safari walk the children can be looked after and entertained by our professional staff. Children’s activities include safari packs with quizzes and puzzles, trips to Kawaza school to meet Zambian children, helping bake cookies in the kitchen and collecting eggs from the hen house.
